Week 40: Jessica K. (jessicaa.kerr) is passionate about female empowerment, racial injustice, and Indigenous issues. She is currently at Western 📚studying Social Justice and Peace Studies and Disability Studies. She applies her passion and studies to volunteering at home and abroad! She played basketball growing up and recently discovered kickboxing! She shares when she was 17 she struggled with an eating disorder and had to stop basketball and kickboxing. Congrats to Eastside Boxing Club for putting on their first all women's boxing card!
The video and event proves our name - Girls Just Wanna Box!

My first ring announcing gig in the amateurs, 5 years ago. We jazzed it up a bit; touch of class amongst all the beautiful chaos which we call boxing. Although I had plenty of experience in the ring as a fighter, this was a whole other level of nervousness.
My mentor bernier_pierre tells me don’t give up. I chuckle to myself humbly, because maybe he never watched my fights ( on YouTube) and doesn’t know my style. ✨✨✨I’m a “come-out-of-the-corner-with-a-straight-cross-kinda-gal. “ I do my research, study my craft and get the job done. I’ve come this far in the Pro game to be the ONLY active #professionalfemaleringannouncer in #Canada AND maybe North America ? ~~ All of this not without massive support from the men AND women in my sport, as well as my fierce family and kickass friends🙏💖
I stay ready. The question is: is my sport ready ??
Who wants to hear MORE female voices announcing this year ?!?! 🎤
