About 5 cm of snow has come down overnight. We will be preparing some trails over the next 48 hours, with the intent to open for skiing and snowshoeing on Saturday. Whether or not ski rentals are available will depend on how much of a base we can establish in the next 2 days. The trails are still closed at this time.
When we open on Saturday, the new Chalet will be partially open, allowing access to the new Retail store, washrooms on the main floor, and a sneak peak of the lodge as we near completion and final occupancy in the next 2 weeks. Guest Services will still be located in the old wax building this weekend, along with the service shop. Hot drinks, soup, and light fare will be available out of the Big Mouth food truck this weekend. There will be limited indoor seating inside the Peter Odell (old wax/guest service) building this weekend, as there is no seating allowed in the new Chalet while in this partial occupancy condition.
We are so grateful for all of your support and are excited to be able to share our new and beautiful facility with you. But we all have to wait- just a little longer.
Happy #FastandFemaleFriday 💕

This month's Special Olympics Canada Athlete of the Month is Brita Hall, from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She has traveled the world competing in cross-country skiing and athletics as a long-distance runner. In 2014, she was the first athlete to receive the Dr. Frank Hayden Lifetime Achievement Award – a prestigious national award given to athletes who’ve best exemplified the spirit, philosophy, and goals of the Special Olympics movement over the course of their career. You are amazing, Brita! 🙌
