Meditation: Have You Mastered It Yet? Or, have you tried it? The Mayo clinic defines meditation as.... "It can produce a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind" "During meditation, you focus your attention and eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing stress. This process may result in enhanced physical and emotional well-being". Meditation is also known to help the following: Reduces Stress. Stress reduction is one of the most common reasons people try meditation. ... Controls Anxiety. Less stress translates to less anxiety. ... Promotes Emotional Health. ... Enhances Self-Awareness. ... Lengthens Attention Span. ... May Reduce Age-Related Memory Loss. ... May Help Fight Addictions. I have to be honest, I have not tried it and I know as I get older, I need to for most of the above reasons. In particular, I wake up, nightly, in the middle of night, for a bathroom break, I find myself "deep in thought" about a bunch of useless things that have gone on or could go on in my life" 🤣🤣 I'm great with the "what ifs" I have run through all the potential scenarios of a particular issue or problem. Does this sound familiar? So, meditation is something I need to start before my birthday, in September. One of my sisters has been doing it for years and says it's made an incredible difference for her. Ok, wish me luck! Who's going to try it with me? #meditation #mindset #mindfullness #sleep #menopause #anxiety #attentionspan #seewhatshecando
