For National Truth and Reconciliation Day PCT will remain OPEN for all Team Practices, Classes, and Lessons. As we reflect on the significance of this day we call on the governments of Canada to accelerate the implementation of the 94 Calls To Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. And for the PCT Community to read the 94 Calls to Action and to wear orange to practice and school. The seven feathers shown in this post represent the seven guiding principles adopted by many Indigenous communities and organizations, which are Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Humility, Truth, and Wisdom. We encourage you to learn more about Indigenous history, residential schools, and heritage. On this historic day of reflection and solidarity, we would like to acknowledge the land and traditional territories that PCT operates on as part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land. In particular, we acknowledge the territory of the Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Ojibway/Chippewa peoples; the land that is home to the Metis; and most recently, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who are direct descendants of the Mississaugas of the Credit. PCT has had a longstanding tradition of supporting the Team Canada program, from 100s of athletes competing on our National Elite and Premier teams, to winning Gold with Team Canada All Girl Junior Elite and Bronze and Silver with Team Canada Special Abilities. Our Owners were instrumental in founding the movement and have coached teams to 9 Gold Medals with Team Canada Coed Elite and All Girl Elite, and historic Bronze and Silver with Coed Premier. Suffice it to say that we believe in the Team Canada Movement. Which is why today makes us so proud. Please join us in Congratulating Coach Joe as he joins the coaching staff of Team Canada All Girl Premier. Joe is no stranger to the TC program. He is a Gold Medal winner from Team Canada Coed Elite in 2009, and was most recently the Head Coach of Team Canada Junior All Girl Elite 2021. AND, he has been a Team Canada Academy coach for the past two seasons. Joe helmed Canada's first SUMMIT team winner and is a passionately positive coach who we are certain will bring professionalism, caring, and a deep well of knowledge to our National team.
