Flying High at the 2019 Gymnastics Ontario Trampoline & Tumbling Provincial Championships

The exceptional ability of athletes to fly, spin, spring and rotate their bodies was on display at Gymnastics Ontario's 2019 Trampoline and Tumbling Ontario Championships, the final event of the gymnastics season.  Over the weekend of May 24th, female and male trampoline and tumbling gymnasts of all ages and skill levels made their way to the Pickering Recreation Complex to apply all that they've learned from a full season of training and competion to be their best in tumbling, trampoline, synchronized trampoline and double mini trampoline.

Throughout the event's three days, athletes were focused on their performances while coaches and officials were determined to provide the athletes with lots of encouragement and positive reinforcement. This year's Ontario Championships was hosted by the Osborne Academy of Acrobatics (OAA) and was the second consecutive year that the OAA has successfully hosted Gymnastics Ontario's premier provincial trampoline and tumbling competition.

'Sport Starts Here' - The motto and modus operandi of Gymnastics Ontario

Gymnastics is the only sport that teaches the fundamental movement patterns found in all other athletic activity:  landings, static positions, locomothions, rotations, swings, springs and object manipulation.  That's why our motto is "Sport Starts Here!".

Events such as these provide an opportunity to highlight our talented athletes who have grown beyond these fundamental patterns to the competitive level and the coaches and officials who lend their expertise and support.

Gymnastics Ontario continually strives for excellence in the development and promotion of quality programs and services which encourage lifelong involvement for all participants.
