It is amazing how timely information can come across your desk or social feed. Leading into our discussion on Sunday about shifting focus from winning to skill development, the following article just came across my social media feed - https://activeforlife.com/hockey-conditioning-camp/. Let’s consider how we take this information and successfully apply it in the sport setting as female coaches. Look forward to discussing on Sunday! Do not forget to register, if you have not done so already.
I hope everyone had a fantastic summer. Female coaches can face a lot of challenges so we will discuss how to effectively get buy in from your organization and parents to focus on skill development over winning. Register today for our next Women Coaches Circle!
Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey. We will be reviewing the responses in detail as we plan for the months ahead. We originally had a fun paint night planned for August 15 but have cancelled due to busy summer schedules as you spend time with family and are back on the field of play. Enjoy the rest of the summer and we look forward to connecting in September.

What did you take away from Meghan and Madeleine’s journey they shared with us last night? I heard….we need to ask females to coach/help, give athletes an opportunity to lead small parts of practice and build from there, provide a safe space to learn and build confidence.
I agree with both of your comments. Both Meghan and Madeleine’s shared experiences showed the power of directly asking and encouraging women who have leadership potential and the small but significant ways in which leadership confidence is built up.
I think it’s to ask and encourage those who may display leadership quality, the opportunity to explore leading in a space where they can learn. I think certainly there is a lot of opportunity and benefit to developing those within the community to be able to give back to the community
