Health and Wellness...How I got Started

I came into the health and wellness way of life, early in my life.  As a high-level athlete in University, I realized health should be a priority.  I didn’t really know what that meant, but I knew when I moved my body, I felt good.  I felt confident, knowing I could conquer anything I put my mind to.  It wasn’t always smooth sailing achieving a high athletic level, and as they say, “the journey is better than the destination”, I was proof of that.  I learned to persevere no matter the obstacles and quickly realized, I could push through adversity fairly easily based on my athletic highs and lows.   I have applied perseverance to almost everything I have tackled in my life.


This year I will be turning 60.  I’ve been reflecting as to how I want to spend the next 40 years 😁.  Covid 19 has allowed us to put the brakes on and reassess, where to from here?  Having been a Beachbody client for over 11 years, and as my dog walking business had essentially come to a grinding halt, I needed to reinvent myself.  It seemed like a natural fit to join Beachbody officially, as a coach. 


Beachbody, has two key foundations to it.  They first provide a wide range of over 1400, online fitness programmes, from beginner to advanced.   They refer to it as the “Netflix of Fitness”.  The programmes are created by “Super Trainers”.  Accompanying each workout programme, there is a nutrition guide, workout calendars and other tools to enhance each participant’s experience. They also have a number of supplements to enhance a woman’s wellness journey.  There is no age limit and each programme can be done at your own pace.


Beachbody’s second foundation is a unique business opportunity.  Becoming a Beachbody coach can be an exciting and rewarding business choice for you to help others with their health and wellness journeys.   We can discuss this opportunity if you would like to know more about it.


My role is to help women change their habits and attitudes towards themselves and their lifestyle. By supporting them, encouraging them to make changes, helping them stay committed to their goals and ultimately seeing results in their wellness journey.  I invite each participant, for a minimum of a year, to join an exclusive non-judgmental accountability group, supervising and encouraging new healthy nutrition plans, all while using our various fitness programmes.  I say a year because this is a long-term lifestyle change not a sprint to quick results.  My second role, as a coach, is to grow a network of likeminded other coaches.  To build our businesses together and to help as many other people reach their health and wellness goals as possible.


Because of my background in PhysEd/Kinesiology, and my continued appetite for keeping up to date with the health industry, I know I will be able to provide additional expertise and value add to my clients and business partners. Having a health background or being a personal trainer is definitely not a requirement to be a coach.
