SWSCD Highlights from the 2017 Uncle Pop Women's World Cup of Table Tennis
The Event
Some of the most dominant elite international female table tennis players from across the world descended on the Pan Am Centre in Markham Ontario to compete in this exclusive Women's Singles competition. From October 27th to October 29th, 2017, Table Tennis Canada along with the International Table Tennis Federation hosted for the first time in Canada, the annual Uncle Pop Women's World Cup of Table Tennis. This event provided players with the chance to win US$150,000 in prizes and to earn the right to be called a World Cup Champion.

Athletes represented numerous countries including Austria, Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Chinese Taipei, Egypt, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Japan, Netherlands, Romania, South Korea, and the United States of America. Our gallery of photos includes the following players:

International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) - The ITTF is the governing body for all international table tennis associations and oversees rules and regulations and technological improvements for the sport of table tennis.
Final Results
Top-seeded Zhu Yuling of China was victorious over second-seeded and fellow countrywoman Liu Shiwen in an action-packed, back and forth final match that ended with a final score of 4 games to 3 (11-13, 8-11, 11-7, 11-8, 10-12, 11-9, 12-10).
