SWSCD Athlete Gallery: The season-opening Gala celebrating Mississauga Ice Precise

Synchronized.  In harmony.  Together as one.

The Gala

Our introduction to synchronized skating at this year's Mississauga Ice Precise Gala event was an impressive one.  The event's program planned for each of the group's three teams (two adult teams and one Master's adult team) to present their program twice to the enthusiastic crowd of spectators that filled the arena's seating area. Each team did not disappoint and the crowd of primarily supportive friends and family members was treated to a show filled with focus, determination and enthusiasm.   As added bonuses, the crowd also enjoyed a taste of the sport's future with a short performance from the Mississauga Synchro Stars Beginner synchronized skating team and to an amazing grand finale performance that incorporated members from all three of Ice Precise's adult synchronized skating teams. An impressive site to see for certain.

A little history about Mississauga Ice Precise

Originally begun in 1998 by Frances McLellan of the Mississauga Figure Skating Club, the twenty year competitive history of Mississauga Ice Precise is eventful and filled with numerous provincial, national and international successes.  Much of this competitive success has come with Coach Nita Patel at the group's helm - a national and world champion skater in her own right and whose commitment and energy for both the sport of synchronized skating and for her skaters was clearly on display throughout the Gala event.
