Hello, Team Inglis friends and family!

We're so excited to be sharing our first blog post on See What She Can Do! 

We began our 2023-24 season with a road trip to beautiful St-Félicien, QC. It was a gorgeous 7-hour drive north-east from Ottawa. We stopped several times along the way to take in the beautiful scenery. 

We took to the ice for our first team practice on Wednesday evening upon arrival. On Thursday we played our first game, winning 8-5 vs. Team Verreault. Friday was moving day for our team, securing two big wins, 9-2 over Team Mann followed by a 10-4 victory against Team Gionest. On Saturday we closed out round-robin play against Team Black where we posted a 9-5 score.

Our round-robin record and shoot-out score earned us a bye to the semi-final on Sunday where we faced off against a strong Team Horton. It came down to the wire but we managed to secure the 8-7 victory and move into the final where we would face Team Black once more. It was a close back-and-forth game but a big steal of two in the sixth end would go a long way in helping us secure the 5-4 victory and the Summer Series title!

We had so much fun throughout the course of our first event together, notably, we spent time outdoors and in the pool of our beautiful hotel, Hôtel du Jardin, St. Félicien. We also enjoyed a beautiful meal by the water at Ô Pied Marin. Robert Desjardins and his team did a wonderful job organizing and hosting this event, we are very appreciative of all their time and effort. We are also very thankful to our wonderful sponsors who make it possible for us to compete at this level!

We finish off this week ranked 25th in the world with 137.5 points. Stay tuned for future updates and thank you for following along our journey!
