Happy Monday from Team Inglis!
Wow! It's hard to believe we've played four events already this season! Last weekend we traveled to Cornwall, Ontario for the Shorty Jenkins Curling Classic where we posted a 2-3 record and missed the playoffs. As always, we played a lot of great teams and took away some important learnings going into the rest of the season.
It was a short turnaround as we headed to Oakville, Ontario for the PointsBet Invitational on Tuesday, September 26. An early morning practice on Wednesday allowed us to get a good read on the rocks and ice heading into our March Madness-style do-or-die game later that afternoon. We had a tight back-and-forth battle with Team Skrlik from Alberta. Both teams exchanged some great shots but ultimately we came up just short of the victory and our run at the event was cut short. We had a great time playing on arena ice in front of our friends and family! Thank you so much to everyone for coming, we loved having you there!
Although we were no longer playing in the event, we made the most of our time together as a full team with coach Steve and spent Thursday and Friday on the ice practicing. Thursday was a very productive day, Caroline Wiley from See What She Can Do came onto the ice with us for a wonderful photo shoot! We loved having her out there! She snapped some amazing photos which we can't wait to share with all of you on our socials! For now, here is a sneak peek...
After Thursday’s practice, we enjoyed an afternoon with our new friends Scott and Sandy. They were so amazing and welcoming, we can't wait for our next get together! Friday was another great practice day, we'd like the thank the Oakville Curling Club and Leaside Curling Club for their wonderful ice.
We will be back out there on the ice shortly as we head to Dundas, Ontario for the Insitu Players Open, October 12-15. We are also very excited to announce that we have been invited to the HearingLife Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Niagara Falls, October 17-21. This will be our first Grand Slam of Curling event as a team and we could not be more excited!
Thanks for following along!
