A new season of ball hockey is ready to begin. What better way to kick off the season than by celebrating athletes in the pre-season.  

Many teams get their extra ball hockey fix by playing in tournaments above and beyond their regular house league games. The annual Women's Pre-Season Showcase tournament is one of four tournaments offered to women throughout the year by the Ontario Ball Hockey Association (OBHA). We were thrilled to cover the action. In addition to the Women's Pre-Season Showcase, the OBHA also hosts the Women's Holiday Classic in December, the Women's Winter Classic in February and the Women's Provincial Championships in August.  Enjoy the many ball hockey moments captured in our 2018 Women's Winter Classic Photo Blog.

With the Pre-Season Showcase tournament in its eighteenth year, the reputation as an important warm up to the ball hockey season means that some of the best of Canada's ball hockey players are on hand to play some early season in A, B, C and Masters (35+) divisions all weekend long.  This year's Pre-Season Showcase also featured Canada's U20 girls ball hockey team who will play in the inaugural World Ball Hockey Federation Championships being held in June in Nitra, Slovakia.  In addition to these young ball hockey players, the OBHA welcomed 14 teams from throughout the province including London, Cambridge, Toronto, Greater Toronto, Barrie, Bradford, Midland, Alliston, Durham, Stouffville and Simcoe County.
