"Thanks Coach!" - SWSCD celebrates National Coaches Week 2022

#ThanksCoach

Each year, the Coaching Association of Canada takes one full week in September to mark National Coaches Week. A time to celebrate 'the positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada'; to thank the women and men who coach; and 'to recognize the integral role they play' in making sport at all levels happen.

SeeWhatSheCanDo deeply values the role that coaches play in sport too. We are grateful for the efforts, time and resources women and men have chosen to give and invest in becoming coaches and leaders - most often as volunteers - with the many thousands of local, provincial and national sport organizations that provide Canadians with the chance to play sports and be physically active in their own communities and beyond.

We also believe that everyone should have the ability to see themselves reflected in the coaching stories and in the world of coaching.  We want women to see that coaching can be an important way in which to reach their full potential as an individual and to experience a positive coaching journey through a strong sense of community and connectedness within the world of sport.

SWSCD is excited and appreciative of the opportunity to tell some great coaching stories and for the chance to create a greater sense of community that surrounds the women who coach or who are considering the world of coaching through our SWSCD Women Coaches Circle in partnership with the Town of Aurora.

As players and active participants ourselves, as well as parents of daughters who play sports, we too want to say "Thanks Coach!" for all that you do for us, our families and the local communities in which we live.

Be Inspired. Be Informed. Be Connected.
