Be In The Know With SWSCD: Meet Elite Canadian Curlers Team Inglis

Elite competitive curling has a long and storied history in Canada. Over the years, the opportunities to play at the game's highest level have grown from primarily entering local, regional, provincial and national championships to today having the chance to compete in multiple professional curling tours where teams now have the opportunity to earn sometimes significant prize money.

One such elite Canadian competitive team is Team Inglis.  While the 2023 - 2024 competitive curling season will mark the debut of Team Inglis in their current foursome, members of the team have a longstanding history of competing together. Danielle and Cassandra will be entering their tenth season together, and their second season with Kira. Calissa and Kira will be re-joining forces after having a successful junior season together. The Team is also supported by their coach Steve Acorn.

As the 23rd-ranked team in the world and the 8th-ranked team in Canada, Team Inglis made their Grand Slam of Curling debut at the Tier 2 event held in Niagara Falls, Ontario from October 17-22, 2023. Their primary goal for the beginning of the 2023/24 season is to acquire enough World Curling Tour points to be consistent competitors on the Grand Slam of Curling Tour. The Team will also focus their competitive efforts on the Ontario Scotties Provincial Championships with their primary goal to qualify for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts either as Team Ontario or as a Wildcard Team qualifying through CTRS points.

The 2023-2024 season also marks the second of the Olympic quadrennial and provides Team Inglis with a great opportunity to step out and continue to make their mark on the curling tour. Over the next two years, the Team will work hard to climb the ranks and be a strong force at the National, Grand Slam, and Olympic level.

In addition to their competitive goals, Team Inglis is excited to be involved in their communities by supporting, volunteering, and advocating for programs that promote diversity and inclusion in curling.

The team itself is based out of the Ottawa Hunt Club located in Ottawa, Ontario.
