Congratulations to Toronto Aeros Girls Hockey Association's junior player and Aurora, Ontario native Brooke Carriere who headed to Orono, Maine last weekend to officially sign a national letter of intent with the University of Maine's Black Bears women's ice hockey team.  Carriere, in her second Provincial Women's Hockey League season with the Aeros, expressed excitement and anticipation for the chance to play with the Univeristy of Maine's Black Bears.  "I'm super excited for the opportunity I've been given by the University of Maine.  It's a great chance to further my hockey career while receiving a top-notch education" shared Brooke.

The University of Maine is a member of the American East Conference and the women's hockey team is a member of Hockey East.  The Toronto Aeros junior team, founded in 1991, and has developed a reputation for winning Championships at the league, provincial and tournament levels. Since then, the Junior Aeros team has graduated over 150 players to university programs across Canada and the USA*.
